Using hyperlinks

This tutorial runs through your internet browser and functions like a Web site.  So, as you learn to use this tutorial you will be learning how to get around the internet.

The pages of this tutorial are connected by "hyperlinks."  You have already used hyperlinks by clicking on the picture of the town at the start and the next arrows.  Hyperlinks are pictures or text that when you click on them take you to a new document.

These are all hyperlinks:

Click me

Notice how the mouse pointer or cursor changes to a finger when you move it over the words "Click me."  The pointing finger lets you know when you are over a hyperlink.

Notice how the colour of the text is different and may be underlined, this also shows that it is a hyperlink.

bike link

The coloured border around the picture to the left indicates that it is a hyperlink.  Most images do not have this type of border, but the cursor will always change to a finger if it is a hyperlink.

Computer Basics This image is a "Mouse-over" or "Roll-over" and it is also a hyperlink.  Notice how the image changes as your mouse moves over it.  This image was taken from the topics menu at the top of the page.
